My opinion about the development of AI. I do not agree with Elon Musk and Geoffrey Hinton that they think AI is very dangerous and could destroy humanity.
Energy consuming animals are eliminated through selection or competition. The Mass Extinctions on The Tree of Life is an reflection of this.
Imagining that another disaster will happen on the earth (extreme environment change) like 66 millions years ago, e.g. air polution, rapid temprature change, etc. Humans will die, but computers can survive because
they do not need air, food, and can work in a extreme environment (-25 to 125 degree Celsius).
However, they need energy for living, as anything that interacting with environment and processing information.
Almost all the forms of energy on the earth have the same energy source -- the sun (light, heat). Thus, if (1) Computers can directly gain energy from the light. (2) They have non-volatile memories to store the most important data, structures and so on,
equivalent to genome system of animals. (3) ... (I will continue to think)
